In this workshop, artists will learn various techniques of Encaustic printmaking on the heated palette using R&F Pigment Sticks as our ink. Techniques will include: Collagraph, Painterly Monotypes, Trace Monotypes, Relief Prints, Stencils and Masks, Gel Press Plates, Suminagashi Marbling, Laser Transfers and Stamps Also covered will be aspects of color mixing and layering to get luminous, complex, multi-layered prints and paintings. No press is required so you can take these techniques right back to your studio.
We will first learn about how to begin a monotype with dry media, suminagashi marbling and encaustic monoprinting directly on the heated palette. We will then add printmaking techniques, including using R&F Pigment Sticks oil paint as our ink, building layers of visual complexity. We will then work on resolving our pieces into fully realized artworks.
Suitable for all levels, no experience necessary! Ages 16+ This workshop is in collaboration with R&F Handmade Paints.
