Celtic ConVergence - Wax Across the Water RETREAT ONLY: Thursday, October 12 check in - Tuesday, October 17 checkout. This intimate 6-day retreat will be held in Mulranny - a small seaside village on Clew Bay in County Mayo, Ireland. The retreat will feature demos, panels, and talks presented by well-known wax artists from around the world. In addition to the retreat programs, artists are invited to participate in a juried exhibition and Artists’ Reception, as well as an art exchange between attendees. The retreat offers ample opportunities for artists to get to know one another over the Welcome Dinner, continental breakfasts, lunch buffets and an occasional pub evening. The fee covers all activities at the retreat, room accommodations, breakfast & lunch and transport to/from the train station. All room accommodations are ASSIGNED on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number of private rooms with private baths; 23 private rooms with shared baths and 19 shared rooms (2 people) with shared baths. In the event you want to share a room, and have a preference of roommate, please include that information on the registration form. (NOTE: This does not cover entry fees for the juried exhibition. See the separate Call for Entries for details.)The retreat fee covers all the programs, breakfast and lunch, transport for off-campus meals and sightseeing and transport to/from the train station. For an additional fee, attendees can also sign up for one of multiple workshops being offered prior to the retreat on Wednesday and Thursday, October 11-12, 2023, and after the retreat on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 17-18, 2023. IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND A PRE- OR POST-RETREAT WORKSHOP, YOU MUST PURCHASE THE WORKSHOP AND THE ADDITIONAL ROOM ACCOMODATIONS SEPARATELY.
