Burning shellac into an encaustic painting creates fluidity and adds visual interest, shine and definition. After a brief review of encaustic applicaiton, there will be instruction and demonstrations for how to apply shellac, create shellac colors, safely set the shellac on fire and fuse the shellac in a thoughtful way. This workshop focuses on safety and technique, so that you will better understand this medium and be able to plan and predict its final look. Experiment using design basics with this versatile medium and walk away with gorgeous new artwork.
