: Light, Depth, and Mystery: Encaustic Monotype

We will use layers to create depth, mystery and light as we draw and paint with encaustic on the Roland HOTboxª (which melts the wax) and then transfer the image to paper without using a press. Workshop: Mixed Media and Encaustic Printmaking. NEWLY ADDED!

All levels will benefit from working with mixed media with encaustic monotype/monoprints. We will trouble-shoot and resolve compositions using new materials and techniques off of and on the Roland HOTbox. After a review of encaustic printmaking and composition we will work freely with an array of materials and many new techniques including paper dipping, printing plate pours, use of repeatable matrices, and cold composition. Materials used may include disperse pigments and wax, watercolor, inks, stencils, Pan Pastel, drawing materials, pigmented cold wax (sans oil), and more!
