Sherrie Posternak
Sherrie Posternak has been involved in the arts since 1972, exploring photography, jewelry design, mosaics, collage, mixed media, encaustics, and the retailing of fine crafts. Her work is exhibited locally, regionally, nationally, and on-line.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Encaustics is the first process that has allowed me to truly transfer what is in my head and heart, onto and into the finished pieces. My recent pieces take a hard look at abstraction and the removal of pre-conceived notions, looking at the way Mother Nature responds to Her own or Man’s creations over periods of time, with the results of layering, erosion, and a new beauty.
