Margaret Bertrand
Margaret Bertrand has now been painting full time for nearly fifteen years. Her work has been exhibited and sold in the San Francisco Bay area and
in San Luis Obispo county. She has studied painting with noted San Francisco artists as well as San Luis Obispo county artists She is a member of
International Encaustic Artists, San Luis Obispo Art Center Oil, Pastel and Acrylic Group (OPAG), Central Coast Printmakers and Morro Bay Art
Association. Margaret is also a member of ArtsObispo. She resides in Los Osos, California on the Central Coast.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My inspiration is the world around me which I interpret with a bold, colorful, fauvist pallet full of light. It is an expression of joy I feel seeing
the beauty around me. Some of my work uses the theme of illumination. For me illumination of light and color is central to painting. Some have said my
paintings are an elegant mystery. I want each person to feel like they are standing beside me looking into a beautiful place of mystery where anything
is possible.
