Franziska Bader
Franziska Bader was born and raised in Switzerland. She has been drawing, painting, and crafting all of her life. She has a Bachelor of Art
Degree in Interior Design and Decoration. She worked six years in this field as an Interior Decorator in antique and furniture sales. In 1994
she moved from Switzerland to Dallas, Texas.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I like to build my own canvases and frames in my wood and metal workshop. I create works in encaustics with lots texture and use of multimedia. I
cut and weld metal sheets to incorporate into a picture, mounting it to the frame. This gives it an interesting depth and relief-like effect. I
paint my subjects with realism and attention to the use of color and value, or I work abstractly where texture and color are the subject.
