JOIN THE INTERNATIONAL ENCAUSTIC ARTISTS
International Encaustic Artists (IEA) is a 501(c) non-profit professional artists’ organization
that seeks to raise the level of excellence in encaustic fine art by providing global
exchange and raising interest about encaustics in the art world and with the general public.
Some of the benefits you will enjoy as an IEA artist member are sharing new information on
techniques and exhibit opportunities and exchange information on the development of careers as
individuals and as a group. Membership will also provide access to online forums, listing on a
IEA website, invitations to display work in members-only shows, and the opportunity to achieve
Signature Member status after being juried into three IEA sponsored shows. IEA also holds retreats
and other art and encaustic-related events and trainings that will be available to IEA members only.
When you pay for IEA membership, you need to complete the membership application and select a volunteer
committee and send that application via e*mail or regular postal mail. Your application can not be
processed without the application form.
All IEA membership applications are subject to approval by the IEA
Board of Directors. The fee for associate artist membership is $75 for one year beginning the month that you
enroll (please always check first to see if membership fees have been updated). In addition, each member is asked to
contribute volunteer time by serving on one or more committees each year. You will receive a help needed
list to make first, second, and third choices from. A member of the Board of Directors will then contact
you and put you in touch with the appropriate team director. Active participation by each member is
fundamental to growing the group as a whole and you will be part of a team that will support your individual
endeavors at every opportunity.
Every effort will be made to address the needs of individual IEA members in order to further their
professional careers and to meet the mission goals of the group as a whole. We welcome your
membership and look forward to many fruitful years ahead!
If you want to write us with any IEA membership questions and/or comments, please
e*mail us: iea_waxart at hotmail dot com
You can download a new member IEA application form in MS Word format or
unformatted text-only version.
You can now elect to pay via your PayPal account (and send your MS Word application form filled out as an
email attachment). Send your completed application to: iea_waxart at hotmail dot com
And let us know in that email that you have already paid online via PayPal so we know to go check (there may be
some delay in responding to you after you have paid because we are all volunteers and not online 24 hours a day,
but we'll get to you...we promise!)
You can also always, if you prefer, send a regular check and mail your application to the address included in the application.

Member Profile Page on Website
Each active and valid IEA member can have a profile webpage on the IEA website during their membership which includes:
- A brief introduction (about the artist, written in third-person) - no more than 2-3 sentences. [optional]
- An artist's statement - no more than 2-3 sentences (written in first-person).
- (2) two sample images of your encaustic work (each image submitted: 500 pixels wide, 72 dpi, jpg, title of work)
Note: number of images shown may be changed by the Board in the future depending upon our bandwidth allotment across
all our members. Also note that the large version of the image will retain proportional dimensions but the
medium and small versions of the images are cropped to a square shape.
- Link to external website leading users to see more of your encaustic work [link optional], and is determined by
IEA if not the homepage of the member's website (if encaustics is not the primary medium).
Please send your profile page information to the IEA Webmaster (iea underscore waxart at hotmail dot com). Send introduction and
artist statement as text and images as non-compressed attachments. Each member is allowed to update their content and images once
a year. We are all volunteers, so allow time for updates to be made.
